Frequently Asked Questions

Once a Jewish organization in the New York metro area has an interpreter or captioning request from someone who is Deaf, fill out the partial funding request form (Form A) below. It is recommended that you try to do this at least two weeks prior to the event. This UJA-Federation of NY fund will reimburse approved programs 75% of the cost of interpreting, not to exceed $200 per event. Each organization can receive a maximum of $800 in a fiscal calendar year. Partial reimbursements will be made subsequent to the event, after Form B is completed.

Each Jewish organization is responsible for hiring and paying the ASL interpreters who work at their events.

JDRC is a non-profit advocacy organization, which can help you advertise your event in the Jewish Deaf community, offer advice, and answer your questions. They are the administrators of this grant. Send JDRC a message via the contact page.
