Our Impact
Since 1996, the Jewish Deaf Resource Center, a 501(c)3 national nonprofit organization, has served as a communication access bridge between Jewish Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals and the wider Jewish community. Despite our efforts, many Jewish Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals remain marginalized, lacking adequate communication access. Your support helps us reduce these barriers and ensures that we can continue to close the communication gap.
Our Goals
- Train professional interpreters for work in Jewish settings.
- Create a scholarship fund for Deaf students to access Jewish educational programs typically not accessible to Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals.
- Train captioners unfamiliar with Jewish vocabulary but who work in the Jewish community.
- Guide synagogues and Jewish agencies in providing communication access in support of community inclusion and equitable society.
